The Evolution Carousel Project (ECP) construction was serialized in the Carousel Modelers and Miniatures Association (CMMA) newsletter, Horse Tales. The series began with the Summer 2014 issue. These articles appeared quarterly through the Summer 2016 issue. This video shows swinging horses one would have found on primitive carousels. Video #4 shows the carousel with full implementation of the series.

The Evolution Carousel Project (ECP) has been designed to effect jumping animals without the use of gears. This reduces both the cost and machining complexity. These horses are moved by cam actuated pushrods.

Video 5 of the Evolution Carousel Project (ECP) shows the operation of the hardware required to power a miniature carousel and synchronize the carousel motion with music.

The Evolution Carousel Project (ECP) is designed to represent carousels from primitive swinging horses through the most complex Golden Age developments. This video shows a carousel with a platform and examples of stationary horses (standers).

The Evolution Carousel Project (ECP) can be continuously upgraded by the builder. This video shows the development through the first two and one half years. The carousel is easily constructed with minimal use of woodworking machinery and features an exciting micro controlled drive. The construction series has been edited into a comprehensive manual for would be builders. Contact CMMA to order your copy.
